First year swimmer Whitney Boeckel (York, PA/Spring Grove) led Arcadia Women's Swimming at the season ending Middle Atlantic Conference Championships with two, top-six finishes. Boeckel laid claim to Arcadia's all-around best individual performance of the weekend, capturing third place in the 200 Backstroke A-Final (2:12.02) and also swam to a 6th place finish in the 100 Backstroke A-Final (1:02.38).
“Whitney's performance at MACS was inspiring,” noted head coach Ryan Weathers, “and helped to set the tone for the entire weekend as her 500 free was one of the first events.” Weathers added, “Whitney is the type of swimmer you can build a team and program around and she proved why at championships.” Whitney broke 4 individual team records (200 Free, 500 Free, 100 Back, 200 Back) and was a member of the record-setting 200 Medley and 800 Free Relays. Of her performance Weathers said, “Her individual events were not only team and personal best marks but earned Whitney top honors in the conference. Her performance was full of confidence and determination as no one works harder or makes better decisions in pursuit of their goals than Whitney.”
